Terms and Conditions

1. Company Information

All tours, safaris, and mountain expeditions are operated by China Tanzania Adventures, a tour operator registered in the United Republic of Tanzania.

Throughout these Terms and Conditions, “the Company,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to China Tanzania Adventures. “Client,” “you,” or “traveler” refers to any person booking or participating in our tours.


2. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions apply when:

  • You book directly with us
  • You book through a travel agent or partner
  • You participate in any of our tours or travel services

By confirming a booking, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.


3. Our Services and Responsibilities

We confirm that:

  • We operate legally with the required licenses and permits in Tanzania
  • Our guides and staff are trained professionals
  • We strive to provide accurate and honest information about our tours
  • Some services such as accommodation, airlines, and certain activities may be provided by third parties

We are committed to responsible tourism, fair treatment of employees, and environmentally respectful practices.


4. Personal Information

We require personal information such as:

  • Full name and passport details
  • Nationality and date of birth
  • Dietary or medical information

This information may be shared with national parks, hotels, and relevant partners solely for arranging your travel services.


5. Official Communication

For safety and fraud prevention, official communication will be through:

  • Official company email addresses
  • Phone numbers listed on our website
  • Website contact forms or online chat

Always verify that communications are from official company channels.


6. Booking and Payments

  • A booking is confirmed after receipt of a deposit
  • Full payment is required before the tour start date (usually 14–30 days unless agreed otherwise)
  • All bank fees and transaction charges are the responsibility of the client
  • Credit card payments may include a processing fee

Failure to complete payments may result in cancellation of your booking.


7. Age Policy

Mountain Expeditions

For safety reasons, recommended participation age for high-altitude trekking is typically between 12 and 70 years. Exceptions may be considered with medical clearance and management approval.

Safaris and Excursions

No strict age limit applies to safari tours, provided minors are accompanied by an adult.


8. Prices

Once a booking is confirmed, prices remain fixed except in cases of:

  • Government tax or park fee increases
  • Currency or regulatory changes beyond our control

Clients will be notified immediately if any price adjustments occur.


9. Changes to Itinerary

Changes by Client

  • Minor changes without extra cost are free
  • Any additional expenses must be covered by the client
  • Unused services are non-refundable

Changes by Company

We may adjust itineraries due to weather, safety concerns, or operational reasons. We will offer suitable alternatives whenever possible.


10. Changes to Travel Dates

Date changes must be requested at least 60 days before departure and may incur additional costs due to airline or accommodation policies.


11. Cancellations

Cancellation by Client

Refunds depend on cancellation timing:

  • Deposit may be non-refundable
  • 10% fee — 90+ days before departure
  • 30% fee — 60–89 days
  • 60% fee — 30–59 days
  • 80% fee — 8–29 days
  • No refund — 0–7 days before start

Third-party penalties from hotels or airlines may increase non-refundable amounts.

Cancellation by Company

If we cancel your tour, you will receive a full refund of payments made to us.


12. Travel Documents & Visas

Clients are responsible for:

  • Valid passports (minimum six months validity)
  • Required visas and entry requirements
  • Vaccinations and travel documentation

We provide general guidance but cannot guarantee entry into Tanzania.


13. Accommodation

Accommodation is based on availability and may include:

  • Shared rooms unless a single supplement is requested
  • Tented accommodation during mountain climbs
  • Alternative hotels if original properties are unavailable

14. Fitness & Medical Requirements

Clients must ensure they are medically fit for travel.

We may request medical forms or doctor approval for certain activities. Failure to provide accurate medical information may result in cancellation without refund.


15. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory and must include:

  • Emergency medical coverage
  • Evacuation and repatriation
  • Trip cancellation protection
  • High-altitude trekking coverage (for Kilimanjaro climbs)

16. Authority of Guides

All travelers must follow guide instructions. Guides may modify itineraries or require participants to stop activities for safety reasons.


17. Risk Acknowledgement

Adventure travel involves inherent risks such as wildlife encounters, remote travel conditions, and high-altitude environments. By booking, clients acknowledge and accept these risks.


18. Property Damage

Clients are responsible for any damage caused to equipment, vehicles, accommodations, or other property during the tour.


19. Third-Party Services

We work with partner hotels, airlines, and activity providers. Their own terms apply, and we are not responsible for their independent services.


20. Personal Expenses

Clients are responsible for personal expenses including tips, drinks, souvenirs, and services not included in the itinerary.


21. Equipment

Personal trekking gear is not included unless stated. Rental equipment is available at additional cost.


22. Luggage & Valuables

Clients are responsible for personal belongings. We are not liable for lost or damaged items unless they are officially stored with us for safekeeping.


23. Photography & Marketing

Photos or videos taken during tours may be used for promotional purposes unless clients request otherwise in writing.


24. Force Majeure

We are not liable for disruptions caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, or extreme weather.


25. Complaints

Any concerns should be reported immediately to your guide or tour manager so we can resolve issues promptly.


26. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
